The Healing Powers of Ginger

Ginger is an essential herb for your home medicine cabinet. Equip yourself with this powerful tool and many health problems will disappear with hardly any effort at all! But why are we so excited about ginger? Why is it so great and how can we make use of its full potential?

If the winters are cold in your area, the illnesses are always at the doorstep. But when ginger joins the battle, strengthening the immune system and alleviating cold symptoms, there is nothing to fear – this syrup will help you gear up against them. It will even help you with nausea, though sadly enough, not with pregnancy nausea.

You will need:
• 3.5 oz. / 100 g of fresh ginger
• 1.7 oz. / 50 g of fresh lemon balm
• 34 Fl. oz. / 1 l of water
• 8 Tbsp. honey

Cut the ginger and lemon balm into small pieces and add water. Bring the mixture to boil and cook it for about 30 minutes. Finally, add the honey and mix it until it thickens. Then just strain it into a nice jar and store it in a cold spot. It is really delicious in tea or even on its own!

Pomegranate, the Elixir of Youth and Beauty

A symbol of female fertility, fecundity and welfare, the pomegranate is a fruit which has great benefits for our health and is a magician on the scene of aromatic fruits. Pomegranate played an important role in Greek mythology, such as at the moment when Paris gave it to Aphrodite and chose her as the most beautiful woman, or when, during his twelve trials, Hercules was supposedly assigned to bring pomegranates of immortality from the Garden of the Hesperides.

A proper morning calls for a proper breakfast.
You will need:
• 2 Tbsp. raisins
• 2 Tbsp. honey
• 1 pomegranate
• 2 oranges
• 2 kiwis
• 4 Tbsp. wheat sprouts
• 8.4 Fl. oz. / 250 ml buttermilk
• 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
• 10 Tbsp. whole meal oats

Take a bowl and add to it the skinned and cut oranges, kiwi, pomegranate seeds and raisins, and drip the orange juice over the top of it. Add the oats and wheat sprouts and cover it all in buttermilk and honey. Stir the mixture and serve.
