11 Herbs You Will Love

Adding fresh herbs to meals is not a privilege reserved to summer months only, because you can grow them all year round.

It does not even necessitate extensive gardening skills or financial investments: grow them on the windowbalcony or an herb box!

(Ocimum basilicum)
Requirements for growing: It prefers warmth and does not take to cold or wind well at all. It requires a nutritive soil, and it must not overdry; do not, however, water its leaves. Usage: It is essential in Italian cuisine and in salads and pesto. It improves digestion and appetite, supposedly lowers alcohol levels and increases the capacity for falling in love. It has a positive effect on the kidneys, and its leaves can be used to treat sore spots, insect bites and wounds.
