Cannabis A Universal Helper and Medicine Part VII: Description and Use of the Flower

Since the first issue of My Herbs came out in July 2016, we have been introducing the healing effects of perhaps the most controversial herb today – cannabis.

In part six, we discussed the seed and its wide-reaching medicinal potential.

Today we will look at the most valuable part of this plant from the medical perspective – the female flowers or tops of the cannabis plant, colloquially called buds. The flowers of female cannabis plants are the main source of the controversy concerning this plant.

This is where the vast majority of active and therapeutic substances, the cannabinoids, are found. One of these cannabinoids, also the one most present in the majority of strains, is the narcotic-inducing tetrahydrocannabinol, known better to the public by its abbreviation, THC.
