Blueberry Tea from Fresh Berries
Tea prepared for medicinal purposes is often brewed using blueberry leaves, which contain high levels of antioxidants. However, the berries themselves can also yield a tasty and nourishing drink. So, let’ s use both to make a yummy drink!
Ingredients:
• A handful of fresh blueberry leaves
• A handful of fresh blueberries
• 250 ml/8.4 fl oz of water
Rinse the leaves and berries under running water. Place the leaves in a cup. Boil water in a kettle. Add blueberries to hot water and steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Pour infusion through a strainer and mash the berries to yield maximum juice. Then boil again and pour the boiling infusion over the leaves. Steep for another 15 minutes. Then pour through a strainer again, add honey or cream, and serve. Tastes wonderful served hot or chilled.
